On February 12, during a cabinet meeting, the NUA-O Scholarship (ନୂଆ-ଓ ଛାତ୍ରବୃତ୍ତି ଯୋଜନା) was introduced. The Odisha government has decided to hold the next Lok Sabha and assembly elections in advance of the introduction of the Nua-O scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, the government announced that it will award yearly scholarships worth between ₹9,000 and ₹11,000 to 4,50,000 undergraduate and 32,000 graduate students attending state universities, government- and non-government-aided colleges, including aided Sanskrit colleges under the Odisha Higher Education department.
