RBI UDGAM Portal Link, login, Registration Online: The Reserve Bank of India has launched a web portal for finding your unclaimed deposits. we will know, how it actually works.
So once you login into the UDGAM portal, there will be a page like this, where you will login into an account. You need to put your mobile number, password, and captcha and as soon as you put all these details in, you will come to a page like this. Now here it will say that you can search for unclaimed deposits but you have to enter your account number, and the name of the bank.
There are only 7 banks now available. after that, the Reserve Bank of India promised that more banks would be there by October. Now, as far as the input for that search criteria is concerned, you can put in your PAN number, voter ID, driving license number, and passport number as well as date of birth.
So the Reserve Bank of India portal is trying to get it even if you do not have any ID. Even by putting your date of birth, you can get the details of your unclaimed deposit. One can say, I don’t have this either. There is also an option.
It also says that additional search criteria are that you can put in your address, your state, or UT and, after that, you will find out your unclaimed deposits. The good thing about these search criteria is that they have not made any necessary conditions for finding your deposits and you also need to know that this is just a search criterion.
It will not enable you to take out the deposit from the bank. this is just an initiative via the Reserve Bank of India to find your unclaimed deposits. To actually get your unclaimed deposits, you need to visit your bank or contact the bank and fulfill all the criteria for getting your unclaimed deposits.
What is the UDGAM Portal?
Recently the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a centralized web portal UDGAM. The full form of UDGAM is ‘Unclaimed Deposits – Gateway to Access Information‘. This portal makes it easy for the common people to search for their unclaimed deposits in multiple banks in one place. Let us tell you that in April 2023, RBI announced the creation of a centralized web portal to trace unclaimed deposits.
In view of the growing trend of unclaimed deposits, RBI has also launched an awareness campaign to claim it. RBI has advised the general public to approach their banks to claim their unclaimed deposits. The portal has been set up jointly by the Reserve Bank of India Information Technology Private Limited (ReBIT), Indian Financial Technology and Allied Services (IFTAS), and participating banks.
It may be noted that at present, users will be able to get details of their unclaimed deposits in respect of seven banks available on this portal. These banks are –
- State Bank of India
- Punjab National Bank
- Central Bank of India
- Dhanlaxmi Bank Limited
- South Indian Bank Limited
- DBS Bank India Limited
- Citibank
Let us tell you that after 10 years unclaimed deposits in a bank are transferred to the ‘Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund. After which they are maintained by the central bank.
According to the latest data, at the end of February 2023, the total amount of unclaimed deposits in public sector banks was Rs 35,012 crore. Whereas, the number of unclaimed accounts stood at 102.4 million.
UDGAM portal registration
- To login to the UDGAM portal first, you have to register. Whose direct link is given below.
- There you have to enter your mobile number, first name and last name, and password, and fill the shown captcha code.
- After that accept all the conditions and click on “Next”.
- As soon as you click on the “Next” button, you will be asked to enter OTP which will be received on your mobile number. You have to enter that OTP.
- After entering OTP you have to click on “Register“.
- Once you register, then you can login.
UDGAM portal RBI login
- To login to the UDGAM portal, first go to the official website of UDGAM. Whose direct link is given below.
- After coming to the login page of UDGAM, you have to login by entering your mobile number, password, and captcha.
- First of all, you have to select Individual. Those with trust, company, NGO, society, etc.. can select in Non-Indivisual category.
- After login, if you want to search unclaimed deposits, then that person’s name, and the bank name (the bank in which you want to search unclaimed deposits) have to be entered.
(Note: I want to tell you here that currently only 7 banks are available on this portal. The names of those 7 banks are given above.) - After that below 5 search criteria input has been given. You have to enter at least one of these 5.
(Note: If any other search criteria is required out of these 5 search criteria input, then you have to click on the “show additional search criteria” box below.)
